Decorate bathroom on a budget – th. Decorate bathroom on a budget. If your bathroom needs a facelift but your bank account is in dire need of one too, then you need to do what you can with a very small budget. If you can spare fifty dollars or so then you can make a big difference to your room – and a “new” bathroom for less than fifty dollars does not seem like such a bad deal at all.
1. Get the Basics Right
If your bathroom is cluttered or dirty it will never look good, so remove everything from every surface and clean your bathroom until it sparkles. If the grout or silicone sealant looks shabby then spend some of your budget on cleaning or replacing these with specialist products.
2. Choose a color
Choose a color or two you want to use for your color scheme (checking first of all that you can find bathroom accessory sets, towels and shower curtains (where necessary) in those colors). If you’re not sure where to begin, start with a shower curtain or bathroom set you like and use the colors in the product.
3. Paint the walls
Use one of the colors on the bathroom walls. You can probably get away with buying the smallest pot of paint, perhaps just a couple of sample pots if there is not much wall to paint above your tiles.
4. Choose Your Accessories
Rather than ornamental items, buy just a few bathroom accessories that you will actually use. A bathroom set is a great way of doing that provided that you will use all the items in the set. Matching towels can be decorative too. Arrange alternating towels in each of your two colors on shelves or roll them neatly and store them in a white basket. And you will need a bath rug so that can be a welcome addition to your floor. If you need a shower curtain ensure that it fits in with your color scheme and adds a welcome splash of color. If you feel that your bathroom needs more then it is likely that a framed print on the wall and a plant or two will suffice in such a small room.
